Life As We Know It
The Arctic Wastes
It was ten degrees outside today before wind chill. Estimates are that with wind chill it was about three. Not the best conditions to take my usual Friday three-mile walk, but the thing is, the walks on Wednesday and Friday are just about the only exercise I get, and both my mind and body are worse off when I don't get them.
It was actually lovely weather for a walk, as long as you were wearing at least two layers of clothing, neck to toe, underneath your coat, and a warm hat. And I got to wear my flannel-lined jeans -- possibly the only time I'll get to wear them this winter unless we get more snow this weekend and I decide to wear them while shovelling. In the last couple of years, the winters have been too warm to ever wear them.
We take comfort from the little things. They're extremely comfy jeans.
