Exhausting
On Wednesdays and Fridays I have LTHOMG, where I walk for several miles and get lunch. I try never to skip this since the walking is pretty much the only exercise I get these days.
LTH = Leaving The House; OMG = OMG. I stole this from Cleolinda years ago. When you spend almost your entire day, work or play, in the same office chair, LTH almost always takes on something of an OMG aspect.
Normally on Wednesdays, where I always go to the dive bar that I've been attending for more than a decade now, I try to work it so I get there between twelve-thirty and one pm. I take about an hour and a half and then I'm usually home by three-thirty. Wednesday is also a Grocery Day so we then go to the store, and, in the summer, the CSA pickup, which is across the street from the store.
Today I began early because I had a Zoom call for work at three which I couldn't miss. So I got up sooner than I normally would and hustled through the morning and hustled off to lunch and hustled back and sat in the meeting from three to nearly four-thirty (it was useless and brain-numbing, by the way), and then had to go plan six nights of solo meals (I hate meal planning) and go get the groceries.
I came back, had dinner (frozen pizza -- I was out of energy to do something more healthy/ambitious), and, amazingly enough, managed to get eight renders done and lay out everything I had (the dialogue's not caught up yet, of course -- writing dialogue takes a working brain) before deciding that I had absolutely run out of go. That was just a minute ago.
It's a quarter to eleven and I'm going to start winding down for bed. For comparison, normally I go to bed between one and one-thirty in the morning.
Being operational is exhausting.
