The Heat of Battle
The problem with this Sleeper Squad -- and for this you can blame the foolish person who plotted it, except that she didn't really have much choice -- is that it has a lot of battle sequences. There was never going to be any other way to resolve the massive storyline that comes to an end in this issue except a massive battle.
Actually, I try never to say that any storyline "comes to an end" in Sleeper Squad, because it isn't accurate. I say instead that it "finds a new equilibrium." The situation re-stabilizes into something different, and there are definitely some changes. The villain of the moment is defeated. A new leader is chosen. Things like that. There is a resolution, but it's not an end. Because, sooner or later, some new instability will happen, or a new villain will come to fore (or one of the same villains will come back) ...
Battle sequences are no fun to do because they involve a huge number of figures, enough that the renderer cries for mercy, and they have to be carefully posed for an hour, rendered for a few minutes, then all carefully re-posed for an hour ... lather rinse repeat.
Today was a designated LTHOMG day and thus I didn't get to start on render work until after dinner, and then I dawdled because I knew I'd come to a scene which was going to be absolutely no fun to do.
Upshot: I really should have gotten about a page done tonight. I did three panels.
