A short interlude
As prophecied yesterday, this evening I finished the dialogue for the Quitclaim story, and in a few minutes I will do the edit read. Then I'll put it away and not think about it again until June 1.
I may need to take a day or two of breather before I really dive into Sleeper Squad 59. Not just because I anticipate that it'll be a Production, but because I'm getting that feeling at the back of my head like "Hey, couldn't we do something else for just one night? Watch a movie? Read a book? Play one of the hundred games you can't play while you're doing renders because they take too much concentration so you just do logic puzzles non-stop?"
I'll give into it for a night or two, and that will be all the other part of my brain can stand before it starts yelling "NO YOU ARE DAWDLING YOU HAVE TO WORK ON STORY. STORY STORY STORY! NOTHiNG BUT STORY!"
It's really kind of amazing, because my lack of a work ethic is kind of legendary; you absolutely cannot make me focus on anything unless forced to (e.g. oh shit the deadline for this is tomorrow), or if it's something I consider of intense personal interest. I've been like this since I was a very small child.
I guess I consider these stories to be of intense personal interest? Which, fine, OK, but it's fascinating that they have been of intense personal interest this consistently for this long. My files are littered with projects I started intensely, worked on intensely for two or three days, and then never touched again.
