Release Day
Calm between
I'm not feeling particularly motivated today, but that's all right, because I am not feeling like I particularly have to be, which is very refreshing.
I finished the Quitclaim story as prophecied, and then was supposed to proceed directly to plotting Sleeper Squad 59, but instead I got a prompt from a friend online which led my brain to do whatever that rattling, screeching thing is it does instead of the process of creation. When the dust had settled two days later, I had 8800 words of Nero Wolfe story. It would have been one day, but I did have some day-job work to do on Thursday and Friday, and also I was out of the house for an extended period of time on Friday.
I suppose that means this entry should get the Release Day tag. If you're reading this you already know where to find the story. It's pretty good, I think.
Tomorrow, assuming I get this plot together today and can begin renders, I will probably do another chunk of the Dredge while I'm rendering. Or maybe I'll go take a walk. The weather will be good again tomorrow. Maybe I'll do both.
Next week I absolutely have to do a work thing I've been either unable or unwilling to do (it wavers back and forth) for over a month. I also have to start thinking about what to do about a potential home computing crisis. Both of those things absolutely have to be settled by June 1. And, of course, by June 1 I will already be yelling at myself about how I'm not getting Sleeper Squad 59 done fast enough and I'm already running out of time. (I think next year I'm going to abandon the schedule idea. There were reasons I needed to do it and stick to it this year, but the stories are much less enjoyable to do when I have that ticking-clock feeling. I hate games with timed sequences.)
But for the moment, I am at leisure and that is a lovely thing.
