Life As We Know It
Where have all the plumbers gone
Work has still not begun on our home renovation. We are still waiting on the city for several of the apparently five thousand permits which must be obtained. I have nightmares about this house still being under renovation after the end of September.
Actually, "things not happening on time" has been a major theme the last couple of weeks since there is also a work project which was theoretically initially supposed to go live in mid-July (I never believed that) and then in mid-August and now it's looking like we'll be lucky if it's in mid-September. The incompetence is not mine and is utterly beyond my control. All I can do is sit and wait and grow increasingly frustrated.
I had either one of my sudden headcolds or a very very bad allergy attack this weekend (depends on whose story you believe; the former story is mine but my spouse is gradually convincing me of the validity of the latter); I was just about nonfunctional on Sunday, got better on Monday and Tuesday, decided to go about the usual LTHOMG on Wednesday as a trial run for another thing I had to do out of the house on Thursday. Wednesday went fine so I went ahead with Thursday, and that went fine -- until I was on my way home, when I stopped to pick up a prescription and just collapsed completely. Had the first massive coughing fit I'd had since Monday. Went home and was pretty useless the rest of the night.
I took the day off today. I am taking no chances.
Story progress (remember, it has 27 scenes and August has 31 days):
- 23 scenes rendered
- 22 of those laid out
- 20.5 of those have completed dialogue
